Portland Blacktails 15, Oly-Pen Force 6

The Portland Blacktails picked up their second win of the season in convincing fashion with a 15-9 win over the Oly-Pen Force on Saturday afternoon in Beaverton.

Miguel Gomez scored five goals including his first goal in a five goal first quarter, He would add two goals in the second quarter, one more in the third, and a final goal in the fourth quarter. Emanuel Ceja scored four goals, one in each quarter, while Adrian Rubio and George Mejia each scored twice for the Blacktails in their final home game of the season.

Cole Jarrett scored a hat trick for the Force in the loss.

Tacoma Stars Reserves 6, Bellingham United 2

The Tacoma Stars Reserves continued their strong defensive season with a 6-2 win over Bellingham United at the Tacoma Soccer Center on Saturday night. The win clinched a playoff spot for the Stars Reserves.

Craig Johnson scored two second half goals to lead the way for the Stars Reserves. Tacoma jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the first half of play thanks to an opening goal by Cris Lozano three minutes into the game and strikes by Thyago Henrique, Andres Mendoza and Amos Freiheit.

Bellingham made it 4-1 early in the third quarter with a goal by Danny Fazio, but then Johnson’s brace gave Tacoma a 6-1 lead. Elliot Rains scored in the last minute to make it 6-2 but it was too little as Tacoma took the 6-2 win.

Oly Town Artesians 8, Snohomish County 2

The Oly Town Artesians picked up their first ever win in Snohomish with an 8-2 victory over Snohomish County on Saturday night. Joe Sammartino and Mitchell Balmer scored twice in the victory to help the Artesians move to 7-1-1 this season.

The Artesians opened the scoring just 50 seconds into the first period and then added another goal minutes later thanks to Rainier Schlekewey’s strike at the 12:30 mark of the first quarter. They would add two more goals in the second quarter, including Sammartino’s first, before Snohomish got on the board with a goal by Andrew Escalante and the half came to a close with Oly up 4-1.

Oly would allow just one more goal, a third quarter strike by Bryan Fakkema, and used a three goal fourth quarter to close out the 8-2 victory and clinch a playoff spot.
