Michael Herrera (Everett City) – A new rivalry was born on Saturday night when Everett City FC, featuring a number of former Bellingham United players, made their debut in the Western Indoor Soccer League and picked up a 6-5 victory. Leading the way was goalkeeper Michael Herrera, a native of Snohomish County who played at Whatcom Community College in Bellingham and played a big role for the Hammers last season. Herrera picked up his second Player Of The Week award and his first for his new club.
Yuta Shimazu (Oly Town Artesians) – It was a big night for the Oly Town Artesians with a 17-7 win over the Oly-Pen Force. Three players scored hat tricks in the victory, including Yuta Shimazu, who also chipped in two assists for the Artesians and got the nomination for Player Of The Week. The native of Nishinomiya, Japan played in his first game for Oly Town after wrapping up his sophomore season at South Puget Sound and picked up the award for best offensive performance in week one.
