TACOMA, Wash. – The Western Indoor Soccer League will return to the City of Everett this season with the announcement that Everett City FC will join the league as an expansion team for the 2022-2023 season. The team is owned and operated by real estate businessman Angel Herrera and longtime Bellingham United star Uriel Herrera, who will also serve as head coach. The club will call the Everett Soccer Arena home.
“Both Uriel and I have always had our dreams of managing a club together as we both share a deep passion for the game,” said Angel Herrera. “All of us here at Everett City FC are excited for this upcoming season and for many seasons to come.”
The club will look to Uriel Herrera’s experience as a multiple WISL champion to guide the club in the first season as the county’s second WISL club alongside Snohomish County FC.
““The city of Everett and Snohomish county as a whole has a great pool of talented individuals,” continued Angel Herrera. “We expect to have many guys come out from all different backgrounds such as former D1 college athletes, local great NWAC players, veteran WISL players, and then we have possible athletes that we hope to discover who want to learn the game.”
Everett City have tryouts scheduled at the Everett Soccer Arena on September 29th at 9:00 PM and then a second tryout scheduled for October 2nd at 10:30 AM. For more information, follow the club’s Facebook page.
This is the second club to call the Everett Soccer Arena home during the WISL’s history. Sporting Everett played two seasons between 2015 and 2017.
