Tacoma Stars Reserves 8, Snohomish County 3

The Tacoma Stars Reserves jumped out to a 5-0 lead before Snohomish County got on the board and rolled to an 8-3 win at the Tacoma Soccer Center. The win moved Tacoma to 7-1-0 this season.

Tacoma jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a goal by Daniel Gray but were held to just that one score over the first quarter. But the Stars scored the next four goals spanning the second and third quarters before Snohomish finally got on the board with a goal by Jordan Correa to make it 5-1. Nate Ford answered with his second goal of the game moments late to make it 6-1 before Andrew Escalante closed out the third quarter scoring to make it 6-2.

Snohomish momentarily cut the Tacoma lead to three, 6-3, early in the fourth quarter behind a goal by Bryce Coffin, but JJ Schmeck and AJ Nitzel each scored their second goals of the game to finish things off and the Stars took home an 8-3 victory.

Oly Town Artesians 9, Oly-Pen Force 6

Despite a hat trick by Oly-Pen’s Alex Hernandez, the Oly Town Artesians erased a one goal fourth quarter deficit with five goals in the final 15 minutes to take home a 9-6 win at the Oly-Pen Sports Center in Bremerton. The Artesians took advantage of seven Force blue cards and moved into second place with the win at 5-3-0.

The Force built a 4-0 lead with 12:04 left in the second quarter thanks to a pair of goals by Alex Hernandez and goals by Rainier Schlekewey and Cole Jarrett. But the Artesians made it a 4-3 game going into halftime thanks to goals by Colin Tate, Kasey Sidor and Dylan Chavez.

The two teams played an even third with goals by the Force’s Schlekewey and the Artesian’s Alex Vogt and the Force took a 5-4 lead into the final 15 minutes.

Oly Town quickly turned things around with Sidor tying the game at the 12:41 mark before Vogt gave them their first lead, 6-5, with 9:34 left. Hernandez got his hat trick and tied the game up, 6-6, with 7:20 left but five minutes later, Tate scored the game winner with 2:02 remaining. Goalkeeper JJ Olson added an insurance goal 22 seconds later and Jesus Flores finished things off with 8 seconds left and the Artesians left Bremerton with a 9-6 win.
