Jason Fairhurst (Oly Town Artesians) – For the second week in a row, a player made his Western Indoor Soccer League debut and made a big splash. This week it was Oly Town’s Jason Fairhurst, who scored a first half hat trick helping the Artesians to a 12-8 home win. Fairhurst, a Snohomish native who just finished his senior season at Saint Martin’s and was a teammate with this week’s Defensive Player Of The Week, Sebastian Navarro, has played two seasons with Oly’s outdoor squad but had never made an appearance with the indoor team until Saturday’s award winning performance.

Other nominees: Richard Henderson (Bellingham), Steve Mohn (Tacoma), Andrew Escalante (Snohomish)

Sebastian Navarro (Tacoma Stars Reserves) – It’s a Saint Martin’s alumni sweep of the awards this week with Sebastian Navarro taking the defensive award for week five along with offensive winner Fairhurst. Navarro scored a goal and added an assist in Tacoma’s 7-5 win over Bellingham United on the big field at the ShoWare Center that helped them improve to 5-0-0 with a commanding lead in the table. Navarro helped kill 2-of-3 power plays and was excellent in 1v1 situations against the always dangerous Hammers.

Other nominees: Eduardo Cáñales (Bellingham), Dorian Lair (Snohomish)
