WOMEN’S WISL UPDATE (3/29/20): We are sad to announce that the 2020 Women’s Western Indoor Soccer League season has been cancelled. The league will start fresh with a new season when the league resumes play.
We want to thank all the players, staff and supporters for a fantastic and exciting two weeks of play and we cannot wait to play some indoor soccer again. Stay home, stay safe and we will see you next season!
TACOMA, Wash. – It is with a heavy heart that the teams of the Western Indoor Soccer League have decided to suspend the women’s season, postponing games this Saturday, March 14th and games on March 21st due to concerns about COVID-19 and the call for social distancing by Washington Governor Jay Inslee.
The health and safety of our players, staff and supporters is of the utmost importance at this time, and while we could have played despite the restriction of gatherings of 250 people or more, because of the physical nature of our game, we feel that it is in everybody’s best interest to take a break and relieve any anxiety of playing at this time.
The enthusiasm and support for our inaugural women’s season has been incredible and it was a heart wrenching decision to postpone games. We want to thank everybody for your support and hope to resume play soon.
We will be monitoring the situation and will reevaluate on March 22nd in the hope of continuing the women’s season.
