Jess Haga – Oly-Pen Force: Down 4-1 at halftime to a team that only allowed one goal the previous week, Oly-Pen’s Jess Haga put the team on her back scoring four straight goals to give the Force a 5-4 lead in the first minute of the 4th quarter. Tacoma would go on to score the game winner with just 39 second left, but Haga’s offensive explosion earned her the WISL’s Offensive Player Of The Week for week two. The Bremerton native and Central Washington alum’s four goals currently stands as the most goals in a game for the new league and she leads the league in goals with five.
Maggie Tonkin – Snohomish Skyhawks In a hard fought game at the Snohomish Soccer Dome, Maggie Tonkin led the way defensively for the Skyhawks in their 7-5 win with two blocked shots and four turnovers created. She also added two goals along the way, the first made it 5-3 near halftime and the second made it 7-4 in the fourth quarter, and league coaches and front office members voted her the Defensive Player Of The Week for her effort. Tonkin was also nominated for Defensive POTW last week.
