TACOMA, WA— The Western Indoor Soccer League (WISL) today announces that after a vote of club coaches and operators, Richard Henderson of Bellingham United (Offense) and Bradley Hanson of the Oly Town Artesians (Defense) are the WISL Players of the Week for matches played February 3, 2018.

Richard Henderson (Offense) – Bellingham United

Richard Henderson finished third in the regular season goals scoring race with 16, just behind the 18 of Olympic Force’s Alex Hernandez and 17 of his teammate Nick Cashmere. Henderson got to 16 by scoring 3 against the Oly Town Artesians on February 3 at the Bellingham Sportsplex. But it was likely his five assists that convinced voters to make him the honoree this week. Cashmere scored 4 goals in this same match, but Henderson played a role in 8 of the Hammers’ 10 goals.

Bradley Hanson (Defense) – Oly Town FC

In a twist of fate, the league coaches and operators also awarded the guy that Henderson scored on. None other than the Hammers themselves nominated Oly Town FC goalkeeper Bradley Hanson as defensive player of the week. He racked up 32 saves and even though 10 got past him there were rave reviews that he kept the Hammers from scoring at least twice as many as they did. Regular Artesians goalkeeper JJ Olson was pressed into duty in the field, where  he scored 2 goals. Meanwhile, Hanson was absorbing shot after shot in the back.
