TACOMA, WA— The Tacoma Stars Reserves beat the Snohomish Skyhawks 6-3 on Saturday night January 6 at the Tacoma Soccer Center. TSR used an early goal spree to get the win and take control of second place in the WISL table.
Mark Lee, Eddie Na and Lucas Dourado all scored for TSR in the first quarter in building a 3-0 lead for the home side. It was 4-0 for Tacoma in the second quarter on a goal from JJ Schmeck before the Skyhawks could answer back. They did so on a strike from Devin Shull and it was 4-1 at halftime.

Defense and ball control dominated the second half of the match which saw only 4 goals scored, 2 for each side. TSR got goals from Isidro Prado-Huerta and a second one from JJ Schmeck. The Skyhawks countered with a second goal from Devin Shull and a capper in the late stages on a penalty kick conversion from Tye Hastings. It wasn’t nearly enough for the visitors and Tacoma won it, 6-3.

The win keeps the Stars Reserves in second place in the WISL with 9 points on a 3-2 record. They also win the season series against Snohomish 2 games to 0 to earn the tiebreaker should the clubs be even in the standings at the end of the year.
The top two clubs in the final standings will host first round playoff matches in February.
