The Western Indoor Soccer League (WISL) today announces the beginning of an innovative program the league hopes will help it build out its referee training and support initiatives. The semi-pro indoor soccer league based in Washington state will offer space on WISL referee uniforms to corporate sponsors.
“The WISL would like to find corporate partners to help offset the budget needs to continue growing and expanding our league,” says Commissioner John Crouch. “With marketing and officiating being the two focuses our semi-professional league, we’d like to build partnerships with the WISL via our officiating.”
The WISL would like to make a third official available at every league match. Further, there is a need in the state to train more indoor soccer officials. The sport is unique to soccer and has many rules outdoor referees are not naturally familiar with. “Needs for third officials, official evaluation, travel expenses…these drive our request for partnerships,” Crouch says.
“It will be a truly unique opportunity to place partner logos on our officials WISL jerseys,” Crouch points out. “We believe we have assets that are worthy of corporate support.”
Partnerships start at $400 and there many advertising opportunities for small businesses all the way up to corporations.
- Logo opportunities on the chest, back and shoulders of the WISL Official jersey to be worn at every game. This will get corporate branding into arenas across the league as well as into WISL web and social channels.
- Partner logo and story opportunities on the WISL Websites and throughout social media channels.
- Potential naming rights for WISL Official Excellence Awards and training programs.
- Possible Banner opportunities in WISL arenas during games.
The Western Indoor Soccer League draws thousands of fans to matches over the winter months of November, December, January and February. The league features clubs in Bellingham, Bremerton, Olympia, Tacoma and Snohomish.
