TACOMA, WA— It was a rare moment at the Tacoma Soccer Center on Saturday night. As the Tacoma Stars Reserves and Sporting Everett FC walked off of the pitch for the halftime break the scoreboard over their head in the rafters read 0-0. It’s the first time in the history of the WISL that neither team scored a goal in the first half.
UPDATE: Sporting Everett has been awarded a 1-0 forfeit win over Tacoma Stars Reserves due to Tacoma using an ineligible player 1-14-17.
It was a different story in the second half though. Eddie Na scored a hat trick as Tacoma pulled away from the visitors in an eventual 7-1 win.
It was 2-0 going into the 4th quarter. The Stars had gotten goals from Na and Danny Minniti to break the scoreless match.
In the 4th quarter Tacoma erupted for 5 more, including 2 from more Na.
The other Stars goals came from Eli Gordley, Nate Ford and JJ Schmeck.
Sporting Everett’s lone tally was by Corey Hendrickson.
