BELLINGHAM, WA— (Hammers report) In front of a crowd of over 300 people at the Bellingham Sportsplex, Bellingham United crushed Olympic Force 8-3, bringing their overall record to 5-2 with them remaining first in the Western Indoor Soccer League.
The first quarter was entertaining with both teams creating scoring chances, yet both were only able to convert on one occasion with the quarter finishing 1-1. Bellingham United went on to score five goals in the 2nd quarter, while shutting out the Force bringing the score at half to 6-1.
Chris Jepson finished the half with three goals.
“Jepson had a great game, and it was great for him to score those goals for us in the first half- it gave us momentum and we were able to hold them off in the second half,” Head Coach Brendan Quilici said.
Other goal scorers for BUFC tonight were Brady Ulen, Conner Moe, Eleazar Galvan, Richard Henderson and Quilici.
At halftime, Art Rodriquez was honored as Hammer Fan of the Week. Rodriquez is constantly supporting Bellingham United, and we truly appreciate him!
Olympic Force battled back with goals from David Meherg, Enrique Hidalgo and Diego Aceves.
United goes on the road for the next two games taking on Oly Town on January 21st and Sporting Everett on the 28th. They return home on February 11th when they host Sporting Everett.
