BREMERTON, WA— The Olympic Force know what it feels like to make it all the way to the WISL Final. This season they want that same feeling – with a different result this time around. The Bremerton indoor outfit started their campaign with a 10-6 loss at Oly Town FC but since then the Force have won 3 of 4 matches and are currently right in the playoff hunt and in 3rd place in the table.
Last Saturday night the Force ran past the Snohomish Skyhawks 12-6. Five Force players scored multiple goals in the rout. The club named Alhassan Awudu the Cervesa Modelo Man of the Match for his 2 goals and 2 assists.
Olympic doubled the visiting Skyhawks up with goals from Enrique Hidalgo (3), Kyle Johnson (2), Leo Potts (2), Miles Nilsen (2) and Awudu (2). Matt Olson rounded out the Olympic scoring.
The Force left for the winter break on a high note after a wild 10-9 win at the Olympic Sports Center over the defending WISL Champions Bellingham United. It was a rematch of the 2016 WISL Final. Following up with a 12-goal return after the break is just what Olympic needed as they push to return to the playoffs and a chance at a second straight spot in the Final.
Speaking of rematches – Olympic travels to Bellingham to face the Hammers on Saturday night Janaury 14 at the Sportsplex at 7:30 PM. The Force then come back home for a January 21 bridge war against the Tacoma Stars Reserves.
