EVERETT, WA— The Tacoma Stars Reserves are the defending Western Indoor Soccer League Champions. They enter the 2015 season as the team everyone wants to beat. Sporting Everett FC is no exception. When they host the Stars Reserves on Saturday night at 7:35 PM at Everett Soccer Arena they will be looking for a fast start.
“Tacoma was undefeated last season so they are obviously the team to beat and we expect it to be a tough game,” says Everett GM Aaron Johnson. “It will be a great test early on in the season to see where we are.”
“Training has been going very well. A lot of new faces but alot of experience,” Otto says. “We have guys that have been around the PASL for many years. Our team is a mix of older players and some new youth players.”
Everett has five matches at home to start the season and five matches away in a row to complete it. “Playing five home games will be nice to hopefully get a good start in the league. Having five roads games at the end will be very tough, since that is when points will really matter,” Otto says.
Sporting, Snohomish and Olympic are joining the WISL this season after playing in the PASL. “Truthfully I believe the talent will be the same from the PASL and the WISL,” Otto says. “Mostly the same teams that have been around for a long time.”
Everett against Tacoma is set for solid opening match. “It will be a great first test for our team playing Tacoma first. We will be able to judge where our team stands after the game,” Otto says.
