The Tacoma Stars are giving up less than three goals per game in Western Indoor Soccer League play. Previously they had two matches with only one goal surrendered.
Now they have reached the top of the defensive summit with a shutout last weekend against the Wenatchee Fire before a packed house at the Tacoma Soccer Center. The 5-0 win earns starting goalkeeper Aaron Anderson and all of the Stars defense WISL Players of the Week honors.
Anderson played all 60 minutes and made 17 saves to notch the first shutout in WISL history. Last week Anderson shared the award with Chris Kintz. The photos below by Bruce Benson tell some of the story. For all you indoor fans who think it is the defense that wins matches, this week’s for you!
